Happy New Year! It’s been a while but vacation (yeah that’s what we’ll call it) is over. Back to the fun stuff, we have a lot to talk about!
I’ve been thinking a lot about fragrances lately, and finding a signature scent, so I took a trip to Sephora to sample some brands. Looking around lost, a tall Sephora salesman in all black and a red bowtie offered to help me. I asked him about Michael Kors and he informed me that they stopped carrying it a few months ago but he might have a tester sample. When he found the sample I was already covered in scents so he allowed me to smell it off his wrist… hindsight we could have just got a tester stick but this way we were able to share a moment. LOL
Afterwards, he saw me lusting over Tom Ford Velvet Orchid (one of my favorites in this line up of fragrances) but I just did not plan to spend that much money on a scent today. So he offered to make me a sample and sent me on my way… and I’ll forever be grateful for the tall man in all black and the red bowtie. Because since then I’ve been the sample queen, walking around asking for samples to be made so I can tell you guys all about it. (Yes gone are the days when you could just get samples, you have to ask the salespeople, in department stores even, to make them for you.. and yes you will get looks if you ask for too many… OH WELL) Maybe this was common knowledge for many, but I never knew.
Anyway, let me carry on.
Versace Bright Crystal (and Bright Crystal Absolu) -Intense. Vibrant. Luxurious.
Gucci Guilty – Daring. Rich. Sexy.
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid – Lavish. Dramatic. Seductive.
Michael Kors Jasmine – Overly Feminine and Head Turning
Marc Jacobs Daisy – Bright. Alluring. Eternal.
YSL Manifesto – Feminine Bold Lovely
If you’re looking for something lighter yet still flirty and stands out, try Michael Kors, Gucci Guilty, and Versace Bright Crystal. Out of those I would say the one that stood out most was the Michael Kors Jasmine, it just was feminine and delicious, but I did love each of them.
For more of a grown and sexy scent definitely try Tom Ford Velvet Orchid, YSL Manifesto or Marc Jacobs Daisy. YSL Manifesto has a different kind of smell, I cant explain it, the only thing that can come to mind is quirky. Which is a good thing. But my favorite is definitely and absolutely the Tom Ford, I felt sexy and ready to take on the world, but I can still wear it out to a club.
I know I said 6 scents but I had to throw in my bonus ALL TIME FAVORITE, since about 10th Grade when I first smelled it at my friends house.. Chanel No. 5 A timeless classic, sexy, feminine, powerful and classy. The quintessence of a woman. It’s light but heavy at the same time. LOL I would call this my signature scent but I’d add Tom Ford and the Michael Kors or Versace into the mix.
Chanel No. 5 – Strong Smooth Sensuality
What are your favorite scents, I don’t think you can have enough…
